We will not have a lecture on Monday September 25.

Due to a family emergency I will be out of town and we will miss the first few lectures, that will made up soon. **Our first lecture will be on Monday September 11.**

The make up lectures will be on Friday September 15, Friday September 22, Friday September 29, and Friday October 13. All four lectures will be in Rm 144 Loomis Lab from 4 pm through 5:20 pm.

My office hours for today, Tuesday September 19, 2017, will be from 3 pm through 4 pm. We will return to the usual schedule next week.

I have reposted HW set 4 to correct for misprints: one was in problem 1 question 2 (in the definition of alpha) , another in problem 1 question 4 (in the first line it should say "n=0 and m\geq 0", and it should have been the state with m=+1 instead of -1, and on 1.5 (2nd to last line) the states should be |0,0> and |0,1>), and problem 2 question 4 (in the expectation value of J the last term should be cos beta instead of cos gamma). On Sunday November 26 I posted my handwritten notes on my lectures on path integrals and quantum mechanics. We will cover this material in the remaining lectures of this term.
